How we plan it
December is one of the most atmospheric times to visit Prague. The Old Town Square market, the tree in front of Týn Church, concerts in churches and the smell of mulled wine make the city feel like a postcard. It is also one of the busiest seasons, which is why planning ahead matters.
The Christmas markets
The largest markets are on Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square, with smaller ones across the city. A guided walk in the late afternoon, when the lights come on, is the best way to see them before the evening crowds.
